From Brian Wood:

Jon giving chase ahead of Lon & Pam

Wow!  Another perfect California day with excellent weather.  It always amazes me when more riders don't show up for these rides!  Anyway, joining Kellie and I on our ST1300, we had Lon & Pam Larsen on their ST1300, and Jon Chaitt on his FZ6.  We met up at the Cycle Gear in Newhall as planned and headed out for Ojai (and lunch) right on time.  Traffic was very light and we made great time through to Highway 126 to Guiberson Road and Mountain road before rolling into Santa Paula.

From Santa Paula we had Ojai Road (aka, Highway 150) pretty much to ourselves until we got near Ojai itself... After a short bit of stop-n-go through Ojai we headed up Highway 33 toward Lockwood Valley Road where we stopped for a brief break before heading on up to highway 166 toward Cerro Noroeste Road and Pine Mountain Club for lunch at the Pine Mountain Roadhouse (aka, the Screaming Squirrel).

Lunch was actually pretty good (at least I enjoyed my pastrami burger), then we headed down Cuddy Valley Road to Frazier Mountain Park Road and gas (for the small FZ6's tank) in Frazier Mountain Park.

Brief break along Hwy 33, Pam, Lon, Kellie, and Jon

Heading out of Frazier Park we took Gormon Post Road to Lancaster Road, The Old Ridge Route, and Pine Canyon Road to Three Points.

From Three Points we simply headed Pine Canyon to Lake Hughes Road and Castaic Junction where we stopped at a convenient McDonald's to say our goodbyes and head our separate ways.

I wish I had more pictures and video, but we were more focused on the ride and enjoying the company of friends.  Hopefully we'll have a few more riders available for this great ride next year!!!
